fair trade seedpod hand painted lilac breasted roller critters. . .The lilac breasted rollers are monogamous birds and their name ‘roller’ actually comes from the spectacular aerial displays the birds display during mating season. They are as fascinating as their wildly colored feathers. Using the fallen seedpods of the Ulumbu Tree (Sterculia rogersii), Zimbabwean artists have created these charming little birds. Standing on hand twisted wire feet, they are between 3-4" tall and are hand painted in the rich bright colors of each bird's plumage.
